Siemens delivers 30,000th PCS 7 system
Siemens has reached a milestone in delivering its 30,000th Simatic PCS 7 system worldwide, said to secure Siemens' position within the top three distributed control system technology providers globally.
“With installations in over 10,000 systems across all process industry sectors, the wide spectrum of Simatic PCS7 applications includes package units to large plants involving over 100,000 I/O process signals,” said Siemens Executive Marketing Manager Industry Automation Ashish Bhat.
The latest Advanced Process Library Simatic PCS 7, available since the start of the year, provides a large number of predefined functions, which all help to significantly cut the costs of planning and engineering.
Bhat said Siemens ongoing development of the PCS 7 will support customers with the optimisation of the plant life cycle.
“Users are set to gain even greater benefits in future from the parallel process strategy in PCS7 in all phases of the life cycle, ranging from the planning and operating phase through to the refurbishment of a plant. Siemens is continually working towards bringing new solutions to the table, to make our systems more efficient and beneficial for our customers,” he said.
