Sullair VOC/VSD hybrid compressor

Wednesday, 25 May, 2011 | Supplied by: Hitachi Global Air Power

The VOC/VSD hybrid compressor’s variable speed drive (VSD) lowers power consumption at the top end of capacity and maintains constant system pressure while the variable output compressor (VOC) airend is designed to extend part-load energy savings.

Individually the VOC has a turndown of 50%; and the VSD up to 30%. The VOC/VSD hybrid air compressor can extend the range of downturn to 15% while keeping the pressure stable and power consumption to a minimum.

The VOC/VSD uses Sullair’s Optimal Flux technology, which allows precise and dynamic drive-to-motor calibration - intended to deliver optimum performance and efficiency throughout the VOC/VSD’s operating range. The technology reduces motor temperatures by up to 11°C, thereby permitting greater turndown, eliminating forced ventilation and improving motor efficiency and longevity.

The VOC/VSD can be built to user’s specifications by the company’s customised engineering team and fitted with a range of extras to suit the application.
