Compressed Air and Power Solutions (CAPS) Australia has released the Centac C1000 oil-free centrifugal compressor, which comprises the main compressor unit and at least three coolers mounted on a cast-iron frame. The three coolers - two inter-stage and one after-cooler - have been oversized to provide greater resistance to fouling and also provide low CTD and pressure drop to increase compressor efficiency and reliability.

The key feature of these water-in-tube coolers is accessibility and serviceability from both ends of the package. The C1000 also features heavy-duty, high-efficiency motors and uniformed, hardened components for improved durability and reliability.

The vertically split arrangement of the design provides fast access to major components of the compressor. If the cooling tubes are blocked, the performance of the whole compressor will be compromised. Cleaning the water tubes involves a simple process of removing the two end covers of the cooler to clean out any debris in tubes. The design also allows easier access to all the components of the compressor, reducing maintenance and servicing time.

The streamlined design simplifies installation of a C1000 into any industrial setting. In the fully enclosed model, all components are mounted in an acoustic enclosure that only requires water, power and air connections.
