Hands-on air compressor training courses on offer

Wednesday, 15 October, 2008

Hands-on air compressor training courses offered by compressor technology group Sullair Australia are providing Australian industry with practical experience in compressor maintenance and operation.

Based on the same in-depth technical training used to educate the company’s own engineers, the training courses are tailored to suit the requirements of individual workplaces. Each course includes a theory session followed by practical training using the attendee’s own Sullair compressors.

The training courses cover a range of topics, from working safely with compressed air, air compressor operating principles, through to technical maintenance procedures, making them suitable for operations, service and maintenance specialists. Single- or multi-day programs are offered.

According to Sullair field technical training engineer Wayne Liddell, the training courses have been designed to provide attendees with a thorough understanding of the generic principles of air compressor design and operation.

The training courses are highly interactive — both in the theory and practical sessions.

The course outcomes and accreditation are well defined, with each person receiving a detailed technical manual featuring material exclusive to course participants.

Depending on the level of certification specified by the attendee, the manual can be used as a reference for an ‘open book’ test, which is given in the final session. Alternatively, organisations can opt for a short multiple-choice test, based on the day’s activities.

Sullair’s training courses are available throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
