The DUV10A vibration analysis sensor assists in the prevention of unplanned gear-unit downtime. It permits the early detection of gear unit wear and damage, enabling site engineers to accurately predict and plan gear unit maintenance.

The sensor allows the early detection of roller bearing and gearing damage, as well as gear unit unbalance and resonance detection. It has been designed to detect 20 individual frequencies across the vibration spectrum, as well as monitoring shock loads. This is especially valuable in remote locations where gear unit breakdown and unplanned downtime can take extended periods of time to remedy.

The unit’s micro electromechanical sensor continuously measures the vibration acceleration surfaces at a rate of 32,000 values per second. The DUV10A employs both fast Fourier transform (FFT) and high-frequency FFT (HFFT) harmonic signal evaluation, delivering advanced levels of precision.

The DUV10A sensor is equipped with an RS232 port for in-field parameter set-up and interrogation and also features a second I/O port that accommodates speed input and alarm output connectivity to supervisory PLCs. It can be configured to alert key personnel of excessive wear once a predetermined vibration alarm-point has been reached and the alarm can be sent to an on-site HMI, SCADA or PC.

Included with the sensor is a free easy-to-use software package, DUV10A-S. Required for sensor configuration and calibration, the software also provides access to a comprehensive selection of diagnostic and performance data.

System diagnosis is further aided by the DUV10A’s integrated ‘green-yellow-red’ LED indicator. This provides on-site technicians with a ‘quick check’ option to establish the status of the gear unit internals.
