Endress+Hauser Prosonic T FMU30 ultrasonic level sensor

The Prosonic T FMU30 is an economical ultrasonic level sensor and transmitter with many of the high-end features found in more expensive devices.

The FMU30’s push-button, plain text graphical display allows for simple, menu-driven commissioning in a choice of languages. The display provides warning and error messages as well as envelope curves for on-site diagnosis, to assist commissioning and maintenance without the need of a laptop. The device can also be connected to a laptop via a service connection and commissioned via Endress+Hauser’s FieldCare software.

Up to 32 linearisation points enable accurate conversion of measured level values into any unit of length, volume or flow rate. The software also features extended mapping functions for more complex measuring tasks, where agitators, level switches and nozzles present false signals that could interfere with reliable measurements.

The FMU30 operates in ambient temperatures from -20 to +60°C. For ‘out-of-the-box’ installation in Australian hazardous environments the FMU 30 has IEC Ex approval, as well as country-specific certification such as ATEX, FM, CSA, TIIS, NEPSI.

With a choice of 1.5 or 2 process connection, the FMU30 has a measuring range of up to 8 m in liquids and 3.5 m in bulk solids. This makes the sensor a suitable solution for a wide range of applications ranging from conveyer belt load monitoring through to chemical storage vessels, and open channel flow.
