Bulk solid flow measurement

Saturday, 01 November, 2008 | Supplied by: SWR Engineering Messtechnik Pty Ltd

SolidFlow can be used to measure lean phase mass flow of bulk solids up to 20 t/h, either in free fall or pneumatically conveyed. It uses a microwave technique.

The sizes of particles can be from nanometres to 20 mm. Each particle is counted and sized, multiplied then integrated to give an output proportional to mass flow.

The process outputs are 4-20 mA, Modbus and pulse output for flow totalisation. The sensor can be easily mounted to any round metallic pipe and is non-intrusive to the flow of material.

The system is easy to calibrate and is maintenance free.
