The model 3417/3497 single-ended shear beam load cells from BCM Sensors are low-profile, high-precision load cells based on the shear-beam working principle. These load cells can find applications in hopper scales and platform scales, or can be used to measure beam bending loads.
The rated capacities of the load cells range from 500 to 2000 kg and the rated output is 2.0±0.005 mV/V. The combined error (accuracy) is 0.02% of full scale.
These low-profile load cells have a safe overload limit of 1.5 times the full scale range and have a compensated temperature range of -10 to 55 °C. Excitation is recommended at 10 VDC, although voltages up to 15 V can be used.
This 3417 load cell is made from alloy steel, which has a nickel-plated treatment, while the 3497 is constructed from stainless steel. Both give protection up to a rating of IP66 and are easy to install and replace.
