Michell Instruments Easidew I.S. intrinsically safe dew-point transmitter
Michell Instruments has upgraded its Easidew I.S. intrinsically safe dew-point transmitter to enhance its performance with additional process connections and extended hazardous area certification.
The upgraded transmitter now has three process connection options: ¾″ UNF, ⅝″ UNF and G½″ BSP. In addition, two new sample blocks for the ¾″ UNF and G½″ BSP threads are also available.
The Easidew I.S. now has certification from IECEx in addition to ATEX, FM and CSA. With this additional certification, the Easidew I.S. is suitable for use around the world in zones 0, 1 and 2.
The main benefit of the Easydew I.S. to users is its wide measurement range of -100 to +20°C dew point with ±2°C accuracy. This means that one sensor can be kept in stock to cover all user ranges, which is useful for OEMs. Applications for the Easidew I.S dew-point transmitter include monitoring moisture in H2 generation, controlling moisture levels in pipeline transmission and moisture measurement in hazardous areas within the power-generation industry.
All transmitters in the Easidew range use Michell’s ceramic moisture sensor. This sensor is coupled with microprocessor-based measurement circuits to produce a calibrated unit which is fully interchangeable. Because the calibration data is stored within the transmitter, calibration service is carried out quickly and easily by replacing the transmitter.
The transmitter is rugged enough to withstand tough industrial conditions: it has IP66 (NEMA4) environmental protection and is able to operate safely in pressures up to in 450 barg.
