Senseca thunderstorm early warning system

Senseca has recently announced the acquisition of the BIRA (UK) range of advanced meteorological and lightning and thunderstorm warning systems.

A number of versions are available for complete ‘out of the box’ warning systems with minimal installation, fully automatic alarm-triggering and up to 35 km detection range.

Other features include quasi-electrostatic detection with high efficiency and low false alarm rates. Outputs include relays and RS422/485, and all units comply with EN50536:2011 +A1:2012 for a class 1 detector and perform in accordance with IEC 62793 for a class A detector.

The Lightning Works Software package allows multi-user capability, sensor health checks and status display, automatic logged data and export of logged data in CSV format.
