The Pepperl+Fuchs Ident-Ex 02 is a pocket scanner designed for safe mobile data capture in Zone 1/21 and Div. 1 hazardous environments. As industries accelerate towards automation, traceability and paperless workflows, the device enables teams to scan, capture and transmit critical data instantly, right at the point of work.

Compact in size, the Ident-Ex 02 weighs under 150 g and fits easily in a pocket, making it a suitable companion for production, logistics and service operations. It is designed to deliver high performance, reading all common 1-D and 2-D codes — including QR, Data Matrix and OCR — at distances of up to 25 m. With Bluetooth connectivity, captured data is transmitted in real time to ERP and MES systems, allowing immediate integration into digital infrastructure.

Four variants are available — Pocket, Grip, Grip+ and Smart Grip — each tailored to specific operational needs, including an HMI-compatible version for pharmaceutical and chemical environments. The Ident-Ex 02 offers an eight-year lifecycle, and its modular design supports existing accessories and convenient charging solutions, including a magnetic holder.
