The OVAL FLOWPET-5G positive displacement flowmeter is primarily intended for use in boiler feed water and fuel oil metering applications. It is available in two product families, for water service and fuel oil service.

The measuring principal for a positive displacement flowmeter is calculated from the number of revolutions of a rotor activated by the energy of fluid. Generally, these flowmeters offer high accuracy measurement and are suitable for totalling the flowrate.

An electronic register shows the total flow and instantaneous flow on a digital LCD touchscreen. LCD character height is 14 mm, and a flow indicator allows users to check instantaneous flow rate, while the display angle can be adjusted ±75° vertically for better visibility.

The electronic register has an internal battery (good for eight years), eliminating the need for an external power source, while an external power source is recommended for the pulse output models.

An analog output is available (2-wire, 4–20 mA), and for pulse models, the factored pulse width is variable in 1 ms steps with the front panel buttons (adjustable from 1 to 999 ms). Simulated outputs are available: the pulse and analog output can be simulated at any flow rate for loop tests.
