Hirschmann’s Spider family of ethernet switches

Hirschmann’s Spider family of entry-level unmanaged switches offers plug-and-play functionality and features high port density with gigabit ethernet on all ports.

They are suitable for most industrial applications including process and factory automation, machinery manufacturing, industrial systems and printing presses. The fibre-optic versions provide interference-free data communications over considerable distances.

Rugged design and IP30 protection mean that these industrial switches can perform in difficult environments. High EMC immunity negates the effects of strong electrical fields, and good resistance to shock, vibration and temperature protects the switches in harsh industrial environments.

The Spider product family includes 21 switches from 2 to 10 ports covering the entire industrial ethernet range from the entry level right up to the Layer 3 backbone switch.

The gigabit versions provide five 1000BaseT (RJ 45) or four 1000BaseT (RJ 45), one combo port (RJ 45 plus SFP slot) and one fibre uplink port (SFP slot).

These full gigabit switches also offer an extended operating temperature range of –40 to +70 °C, simple rail mounting, optical ports for SC or ST connectors and single or multimode communications, and LED device and network status displays.
