Moore Industries seeks oldest products in service

Monday, 12 May, 2008

Moore Industries is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is trying to find the oldest of its products that are still in service.

Moore Industries was founded in 1968 by Leonard W Moore, who is still the president. It started out as a three-person operation making signal conditioners in a garage in California and now has offices worldwide in Australia, Belgium, China, the Netherlands and the UK.

“After working in the instrumentation industry for a few years, I saw a market for tough, reliable, noise-resistant signal conditioners,” said Moore.

“Drawing on my experience in the control centre fabrication industry, we set out to build the best signal conditioners in the world.”

With a reputation of building high quality, rugged instrumentation, it is possible that many older products are still in service — maybe even going back to the 1968 Model SCT signal conditioner, one of the first products — and Moore Industries wants to find them.

Accordingly, Moore Industries is offering $500 in merchandise to the top three companies who can prove they are still using the oldest Moore Industries products.

To submit an entry for the Oldest Moore Industries Product, send an email to oldestmiiproduct@miinet.com by 1 August 2008.
