Peak Systems PCAN-Gateway range of CAN to LAN gateways

Peak Systems has launched a new product family of CAN to IP network gateways. The PCAN-Gateway range allows the connection of different CAN buses over wired or wireless networks. CAN frames are wrapped in TCP or UDP message packets and are then forwarded via the IP network from one device to the other. Device configuration and message routing is easily programmed via a user-friendly web interface.

The PCAN-Ethernet Gateway DR has a LAN interface and two high-speed CAN channels with a bit rate of up to 1 Mbps. The PCAN-Wireless Gateway DR has two high-speed CAN channels with a bit rate of up to 1 Mbps. The WLAN interface supports IEEE 802.11 b/g and establishes its connection via an external dipole antenna (2.4 GHz).

Both units are housed in a DIN rail form factor and operate over an extended temperature range of -40 to 85°C, which makes the units suitable for use in industrial environments.
