Telemecanique XUY fully integrated roller sensor

Monday, 18 June, 2012 | Supplied by: Schneider Electric

The Telemecanique XUY fully integrated roller sensor uses a multi-beam photoelectric sensor across the width of the conveyor, and is easily installed between the conveyor rollers to detect all objects passing over the rollers - no matter their shape, colour or position.

Featuring a design that eliminates the time consuming and more costly traditional mounting styles, the XUY can be installed and moved without the need for tools.

Encased in a 12 mm diameter aluminium tube, the roller sensor can be ordered to suit roller conveyor widths from 200 to 900 mm and, depending on the conveyor width, will accommodate from one to six sensors across the tube.

The roller sensor includes a spring-loaded end and the options of three types of end-mounting clips: 7/16 hexagonal, 8 mm and adhesive types. It has the ability to be installed between the conveyor’s rollers, which helps protect the sensor from direct mechanical impact. Thirty degree angle adjustment means the sensor is easy to set up and align on a target object, and the use of special convex lens avoids dust accumulation on the sensor face.
