The profile scanners of the scanControl 2700 and 2710 series from Micro-Epsilon are now also available with a measuring range of 50 mm, adding to the previous measuring ranges of 25 and 100 mm.
The models in the 2710 series have a compact housing with integrated controller, making them suitable for use in automation applications where there is often restricted space. Typical measurement tasks for these profile sensors are the measuring of angles, steps and positions. The same is also possible for profiles such as adhesive beads, weld seams, grooves and gaps.
The scanControl 2700 acts as a pure data supplier; the profile calculation is performed externally. The scanControl 2710 calculates the information directly in the sensor and so can be operated without any additional PC or programming effort.
The series operates at 100 Hz and provides a resolution of 640 points per profile. The compact design means the profile scanner can be adapted to a wide variety of applications, either as a stationary measurement unit or in moving mode, for example, on a robot arm. The measuring range starts at a distance of 175 mm from the sensor and can be extended from 50 to 105 mm.
