Posital Optocode series of absolute encoders

Posital’s Optocode series of absolute encoders with industrial ethernet interfaces is designed for high-speed requirements in robot cells and press lines, transfer lines, handling tasks and further applications in industries such as automobile production.

The units are available as EtherNet/IP and ProfiNet models. Certified by the Open DeviceNet Vendors Association (ODVA), the EtherNet/IP models feature an Ertec200-based platform and reach cycle times as low as 10 ms. The ProfiNet IRT models, which are certified by the PROFIBUS User Organization (PNO), support IRT, RT and NRT data transfer according to the V4 encoder profile, ensuring cycle times as low as 1 ms (IRT) and 10 ms (RT).

With a compact design (58 mm diameter), they can be easily integrated into machines and plants with limited installation space. Single-turn versions provide a maximum resolution of 16 bits, while multi-turn models can cover a 30-bit measuring range.
