O4 series photoelectric sensors

The ifm electronic opto family is growing with the release of the O4 series, a photoelectric sensor with ranges up to 50 m.

The O4 is available as a diffuse reflection sensor with background suppression, through-beam sensor and retro-reflective sensor with polarisation filter.

The O4 sensor is reliable in robust applications including the wood, paper and automotive industries, transport and conveying technology or in steel processing. Due to its long ranges, it can also look into critical areas. Depending on the version, setting of the switch point is done via a potentiometer or a Teach button.

The O4 sensors with a protection rating IP67 or IP65 (version with potentiometer) guarantee a reliable function at operating temperatures of -20 to 60°C.

The wide selection of optional mounting accessories allows simple, flexible and time-saving adaptation. The optional stainless steel bracket protects the sensor in the best possible way against mechanical destruction. Connection of the sensors is made via a standardised and rotatable M12 connector.
