Motrona GV480, 481 series shaft encoder signal expanders

Friday, 01 March, 2013 | Supplied by: Plant Control & Automation

The GV480, 481 series of shaft encoder signal expanders have been added to the Motrona range. The device expands the output from one incremental shaft encoder to four or eight individually isolated encoder signals.

This means that there is no electrical connection between either the input or any of the output encoder groups - every encoder group of signals can operate on a different power supply. In addition, the expander also cleans up any noise that may have been generated over very long cable runs.

Wiring termination is by plug-in screw terminal blocks - there are also two D9 plugs for easy expansion to additional GV modules; the connection loop is made by looping with a short ribbon cable fitted with two insulation displacement DB9 plugs.
