The IRB 4600 features a compact and lightweight design with an upper arm of aluminium and spur gears of ABB’s own design. The robot incorporates QuickMove and TrueMove, ABB’s sharp motion technology that defines precise performance and path accuracy with the shortest possible rapid cycle time.
The IRB 4600 comes in four versions: two short-arm versions (2.05 m) for 60 or 45 kg payload and two long-arm (2.50 and 2.55 m) versions for 40 or 20 kg. The robot features an ultra-wide working range, minimal cycle times and state-of-the-art path performance. It can be mounted on the floor, shelf, tilted and even inverted. Thanks to its semi-shelf capability, it also has a very good reach below the base of the robot, and can be placed on top of the machines.
With a weight of just above 400 kg, the design without a parallel rod gives a wider working range and a compact body that will fit into the user’s workshops, taking up less floor space than many other robots. The IRB 4600 is designed to withstand harsh environments; all robots are protected according to the IP67 standard.
