The Movimot ‘D’ extends the continuous operating power of SEW-Eurodrive’s Movimot range of inverter/geared motor combinations to 4 kW. Incorporating SEW-Eurodrive’s MEPS-compliant and high-efficiency DR motor series and backwards-compatible with previous Movimot versions, the Movimot ‘D’ provides a flexible, energy-efficient, decentralised drive solution.

The Movimot ‘D’ combines the advantages of decentralised control with the latest in energy-efficient motor technology. It is suitable for standard variable speed applications, and with its advanced onboard mechanical brake control functionality, the Movimot ‘D’ can accommodate a range of hoisting applications. Rated to -30°C ambient temperature, the Movimot ‘D’ is also suitable for deep freeze, cold storage and warehousing applications.

As a space-saving solution, the Movimot ‘D’ provides users with a well-matched inverter/geared motor combination. It is fitted with a drive identity module (DIM) which stores individual motor parameters on board, eliminating motor commissioning at start-up. Most variable speed applications can be easily set through DIP switches and thumbwheels. The integrated monitoring capability of the Movimot ‘D’ includes functions such as motor protection. This means a separate device is not required to monitor stator winding temperature, saving space and capital cost.

Optionally rated up to IP66, the Movimot ‘D’ features a compact cast-aluminium construction, incorporating an onboard inverter housed in an enclosure not much bigger than a conventional terminal box. This saves installation time, as separate inverters don’t have to be individually wired in a separate cabinet. Further installation flexibility can be realised via the terminal box mounting options. Users have the option of mounting the inverter housing/terminal box in a number of orientations directly on the Movimot unit, or up to 15 m away via a motor cable connection. Colour-coded signal terminals further simplify installation.
