Hengstler ACURO-XR series multi-turn encoders

Tuesday, 20 April, 2010 | Supplied by: Automated Control Pty Ltd

The Hengstler ACURO-XR series encoders are claimed to be capable of withstanding high acceleration rates, mechanical stresses and extreme climatic fluctuations, and are fully functional in underwater operating conditions. Their operating temperature range is from -40 to +100°C.

The encoders have a rugged mechanical design, high reliability and a long useful life. Their robust enclosure and large bearing are designed to cope with axial and radial forces of up to 300 N.

A high-grade seal protects the encoder against penetrating liquids (IP69K). 12-bit resolution is achieved within one turn, and the encoder is equipped with electronic multi-turn technology to detect and output the number of rotations. It works with energy independence, without any gears and contacts, without any moving parts and without the use of batteries. The maximum multi-turn resolution has been increased to 24 bits.

The encoders are enclosed in a compact 58 mm industrial standard enclosure and have an installation depth of 32 mm.
