Hengstler Acuro AC58-I combined absolute/incremental encoder

The Acuro family of encoders made by Hengstler now includes the AC58-I, an encoder that can be used both for positioning and feedback applications.

In many drive and positioning applications, electric motors are frequently used with an incremental encoder providing the feedback and an absolute encoder providing the rotor positioning. The use of two encoders not only increased the overall system cost but narrowed the freedom of engineers in their constructive design.

The AC58-I is designed to be two encoders in one, combining an incremental and absolute encoder in one enclosure.

It is suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions, offering a wide temperature range from -40 to 100°C. It is compatible with all common types of frequency converters and square-wave TTL or HTL signals are available. Resolution of up to 29 b with up to 2048 increments is available and the encoder offers high electromagnetic compatibility (up to 2 kV) and full optical scanning.
