Eltra single-turn angular position transducer

Wednesday, 06 July, 2011 | Supplied by: Automated Motion Systems Pty Ltd

The Eltra single-turn angular position transducer provides an analog output proportional to shaft position. The sensing device is an 8- or 12-bit absolute magnetic encoder, and integrated electronics converts the reading into an analog signal of 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA.

Unlike a potentiometer, there is no sliding contact so the operational life is limited only by bearings and seals. The non linearity is also improved over potentiometric devices. Measuring ranges include 90, 180, 270 and 360°. The transducers are enclosed in a rugged enclosure with sealing up to IP67. Models with flange mounting or hollow shafts are available for a variety of shaft sizes. Power supply can be 5 V or 12-28 VDC. An optional reset input is also available on some models. Operating temperature is up to 85°C.
