Food facility design build and maintain specialist company Wiley will be among the many food industry exhibitors on show at Foodtech Queensland.

Visitors to the Wiley stand will have the opportunity to meet Kuka’s KR AGILUS robot — a lightweight, versatile and fast robot that is changing how food is processed, packaged and delivered.

Designed for the food sector, the bot excels at performing repetitive movements and working at high speeds with a high degree of accuracy, helping food processors improve efficiency, accuracy and safety.

Brett Wiskar, who leads Wiley’s data and technology consulting initiatives, will be a guest speaker in the Foodtech Qld Seminar Program, presenting on the topic ‘9 billion dinner guests — smarter ways to feed the market’ on Monday, 27 June at 11 am.

He will present how technology, data and innovation can feed the world’s hungry markets.

“The world’s population will reach 9 billion by 2050, and as members of the supply chain that will feed those markets, we have to find smart solutions to tomorrow’s challenges,” he said.

“Our food industry must scale up, control costs and maintain quality at a record pace. New software in data analysis and technology such as the Kuka KR AGILUS is critical to helping us do this.”

The event will take place alongside the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology’s 49th Annual Convention. The theme of this year’s convention is ‘The Pulse of the Industry’, exploring the latest trends, innovations, technologies, challenges and opportunities.

Foodtech Queensland will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26 to 28 June.
