The WCS3B-LS810 from Pepperl+Fuchs is designed to combine millimetre-accurate absolute positioning with seamless IIoT integration. Designed for harsh environments, it is said to offer precise positioning while maintaining compatibility with existing code rails and accessories, making upgrades simple and cost-effective.

With an advanced IO-Link interface, the system enables easy commissioning and real-time data monitoring, supporting predictive maintenance to minimise downtime. Integrated acceleration and temperature sensors provide continuous diagnostics, while a heartbeat signal helps maintain operational reliability. A universal fieldbus connection via an IO-Link master allows for easy integration into existing industrial networks.

The WCS with IO-Link is available in three versions: a standard model; a display version for easy readability; and an outdoor variant with a heated housing, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures down to -40°C. Additional features such as automatic display rotation, a dynamic preset function and configurable position ranges enhance flexibility and efficiency, replacing traditional limit switches for improved performance.
