Turck IMS interface modules

Thursday, 08 April, 2010 | Supplied by: Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has announced that its IMS interface modules are now UL certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations. The 6.2 mm wide IMS modules provide complete galvanic isolation, resisting electrical interference and noise in busy plant environments, with signal conditioning for new or retrofit hazardous area installations.

The IMS modules may be used for analog signal transmission or for temperature detection with signal conditioning. Analog modules featuring DIP switches allow users to select either a dead-zero or live-zero signal for input or output. One and two channel analog modules are also available with or without signal conditioning. The universal selectable IMS module covers the full range of current and voltage choices offered by analog modules, facilitating equipment consolidation. With this module, users can manually set signals for commissioning and testing installations and devices. Temperature modules convert signals to either a voltage or current output and are suitable for type J or K thermocouples, as well as 2-, 3- or 4-wire PT100 RTDs.
