ERNI has extended the Bus-Interface Connector family with the ERbic MAX CAN switch.
The backshell design MAX has a diecast metal housing, which is suitable for applications in rough environments and with strict EMC requirements, like welding control units and power stations.
The ERbic MAX CAN switch includes an integrated switch that allows for flexible system design and easy system extension. The external switch, which is recessed and therefore protected from accidental interruption, operates the termination resistor. In a network extension, the appropriate active termination connector may easily be switched to a node connector without terminating the system.
Additionally, while troubleshooting the network, the appropriate node connector can be terminated and separated from adjacent network participants. This allows the remaining system to continue operation without disruption.
