CMZ SBD servo drives for brushless motors

Italian motion control manufacturer CMZ Sistemi Elettronici has a standalone servo drive for brushless motors from 0.7 to 7 kW, in 230 or 400 VAC versions for currents from 5 to 20 A.

The integrated PLC model provides standalone operation in certain applications when combined with expansion modules and an HMI. The latest SBD-L series has a built-in IEC61131 structured text programmable mini-PLC that can control local axes and I/Os as well as remote axes in decentralised applications. PLC functions include jogging, absolute/relative positioning, homing, gearing and touch probe. HMI screens can be connected via an RS-485 serial port using Modbus RTU protocol to allow interactive control.

The SBD servo drive is designed for a wide range of automation applications, offering a solution with advanced connectivity and internal programmability, configuration, tuning and monitoring using CMZ’s SDSetup program. Feedback systems include resolver, TTL incremental encoders and Hiperface absolute encoders.

The SBD drive offers multiple communication interfaces including CANopen, EtherCAT and Profinet, as well as pulse/direction inputs. It integrates essential components like EMC filters and braking resistors, and provides configurable I/Os, analog I/O and a micro-USB port for configuration. Safety features include dual-channel Safe Torque Off (STO SIL3).
