Perfectron ROC235A 1U rackmount fanless rugged system

Friday, 18 July, 2014 | Supplied by: Backplane Systems Technology Pty Ltd

The Perfectron ROC235A is a 1U rackmount fanless rugged system based on Intel’s QM77 chipset and that supports Intel’s high-performance Core i3-3120ME (35 W), Core i5-3610ME (35 W) and Core i7-3610QE (45 W) processors. The ROC235A also features wide range DC inputs (9-24 V) and wide operating temperature range from -20 to +70°C, and supports dual 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM system memory up to 8 GB DDR3 1333/1600 SDRAM capacity.

The ROC235A’s thermal design solution incorporates six copper liquid-vapour vacuum tubes (heat pipes) which efficiently manage the system’s heat dissipation. This rugged mechanical structure also provides better vibration resistance. Instead of a fan, the enclosure features large, open honeycomb vents on the top, sides, front and back to allow for natural convection cooling. The design increases the heat dissipating area, allowing for a faster cooling effect.

The ROC235A rackmount server includes a range of indicators including power, HDD and LAN LEDs located in the front panel. For easy integration with a variety of applications, a range of I/O connections is available, such as three display interfaces (HDMI, DVI-D and VGA), audio Mic-in, Line-out, one COM port, two Ethernet LAN and four USB ports. Onboard there is one PCI or one PCIe slot plus one mPCIe expansion slot, allowing users to add additional functionality such as Wi-Fi or GPRS.
