Moxa Networking says ABB Industrial IT has certified its EDS-508 series of managed industrial ethernet switches.
The switches are designed for ethernet communication in harsh situations where non-stop operation is one of the most basic requirements for automation systems.
In most cases, the downtime of automation systems is caused by network breakdowns.
This makes the series attractive, since its high MTBF and redundant Turbo Ring (which recovers the network within 300 ms) ensure that the network will work continuously.
The series has passed the Industrial IT tests for conformity at the Connectivity Level.
