Backplane Systems ERS800-D16 fanless waterproof computer

Backplane Systems has announced the ERS800-D16, a slim, fanless, waterproof system based on iBase’s ECX800E-D16 single board computer.

The ERS800-D16 features a solid aluminium construction. It is a fanless system with an IP67 standard waterproof rating, which means that it is protected against the effects of total water immersion of up to 1 m for 30 minutes.

The system mainboard is the ECX800E-D16 which has an onboard L2400 Intel Core2 Duo Processor with a speed of 1.66 GHz. It also supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 SODIMM Memory, and 4 GB of Compact Flash solid-state storage. The rear-panel external I/O (via external cable) includes one VGA port, two USB ports and one gigabit LAN port.

The chassis dimensions are 200 mm (W) x 67 mm (H) x 273 mm (D) and the system has an operating temperature of 0 to 45 °C with a storage temperature range of -20 to 80 °C, making it versatile enough to suit most applications where space is limited.
