Advantech has introduced an industrial-grade, Mini-ITX motherboard featuring the latest Intel Atom processors. The single-core N450 and the dual-core D510 integrate the graphics and memory controller hub onto a single chip. AIMB-212 also has up to eight USB 2.0 and six COM ports integrated in a standard 170 x 170 mm form factor. These motherboards also support dual display for LVDS and VGA.

The thermal design power rating of the Intel Atom N450 single-core architecture is 5.5 W, while that of the Intel Atom D510 dual core processor is 13 W, enabling power reductions, smaller systems and performance improvements. AIMB-212 utilises the Intel ICH8M chipset which offers a lower total cost of ownership and provides 12 VDC support. AIMB-212 can support system memory of up to 2 GB of DDR2 667 SDRAM.

The AIMB-212 also comes with CompactFlash, PCI bus, 8-bit GPIO and Mini-PCIe expansion slots to enable easy integration, while a dual Intel chipset 10/100/1000 Mbps ethernet port is also available.

Advantech provides drivers and APIs for different operating systems including GPIO, SMBus, watchdog timer, hardware monitor, panel backlight on/off and brightness control. Supported operating systems include Windows 7, Windows XP, XP Embedded, Windows CE and Linux.
