The Smart-Ex 203 from Pepperl+Fuchs is an industrial-grade 5G smartphone designed for reliable communication and digital workflows in Zone 2/22 and Div 2 hazardous areas.

Supporting 52 frequency bands across global 5G and 4G networks, as well as Wi-Fi 6, the Smart-Ex 203 is designed to enable fast, reliable communication and low-latency data transfer. Its dual SIM functionality, featuring eSIM and Nano SIM, also simplifies switching between private and public networks.

A large 6.3-inch display, Google ARCore support and high-resolution cameras make the Smart-Ex 203 suitable for digital workflows, augmented reality applications, remote maintenance and training. The 48 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash provides high-quality images and Full HD video, while the 16 MP front camera supports clear communication in the field. For added convenience, Smart Call Handling enables intuitive call control using simple hand gestures, while an optimised fingerprint sensor provides secure biometric authentication.

A newly developed accessory interface further extends the smartphone’s capabilities. When paired with the SM-Ex S203 scanner module, the Smart-Ex 203 becomes a 1-D/2-D barcode scanner, enabling reliable mobile scanning. With long-term Android support and security patches until March 2032, the Smart-Ex 203 is designed to provide connectivity, flexibility and performance in industrial mobility.
