Aplex AVS-553 edge AI computing system

Interworld Electronics has released the Aplex AVS-553, an edge AI computing system designed for industrial automation, machine vision, and data-intensive applications. Powered by 13th/14th Gen Intel Core processors and the Intel R680E chipset, the system supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory to facilitate efficient data processing and multitasking in demanding environments.

The AVS-553 includes eight USB3.2 Gen 2 ports, six RS-232/422/485 ports, and four 2.5 GbE LAN ports with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) support. Video outputs include HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a, supporting resolutions up to 8K. For wireless requirements, dedicated slots for Wi-Fi and 4G/5G cellular modules are available.

The AVS-553 offers numerous expansion capabilities, featuring a PCIe x16 Gen 5 slot and additional PCIe x4 slots. This architecture allows for GPU upgrades and hardware acceleration, specifically tailored for AI inference and vision processing. Storage is flexible, with dual M.2 M-Key slots for SATA or PCIe SSDs. It also supports Windows 11 IoT Enterprise and Ubuntu, providing OS flexibility.

The AVS-553 operates across a temperature range of -20 to 60°C and meets IEC 60068-2 standards for shock and vibration resistance. Power stability is maintained via dual hot-swappable 550 W power supplies.
