Advantech MIC-735 edge AI platform

Advantech has announced that its MIC-735 edge AI platform is progressing towards validation through the NVIDIA Halos AI System Inspection Lab, positioning it as a platform aligned with NVIDIA’s safety-focused Physical AI framework.

Built on the NVIDIA IGX Thor T5000 architecture, the MIC-735 is designed for robotics, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), intelligent machines and industrial automation operating in real-world environments. Through the Halos validation process, the platform aligns with key functional safety standards, including IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, helping simplify compliance, streamline safety-related development and reduce downstream certification efforts.

The MIC-735 integrates onboard and external sensor data to enhance system-level safety, enabling real-time risk mitigation and deterministic operation for safety-critical AI applications. Its architecture supports secure emergency stop (E-Stop) functionality over IP networks, fleet-wide control through an endpoint controller, and localised intervention with Wireless E-Stop Pro, making it suitable for dynamic industrial environments.

Supporting a 10-year product lifecycle, the MIC-735 is compatible with the NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX software stack, including NVIDIA NIM microservices, NVIDIA Isaac robotics platform, NVIDIA Metropolis for vision AI, and NVIDIA Holoscan with Sensor Bridge technologies for high-bandwidth, synchronised sensor communication.

In addition to its functional safety alignment, the MIC-735 has been officially certified by NVIDIA as a deployment-ready AI platform, meeting rigorous requirements for performance, security, scalability and software integration. This enables faster deployment while providing a trusted foundation for next-generation robotics, vision AI and critical medical applications.
