Carbon management solution

Honeywell has released its Carbon Management Information Solution to help Australian process manufacturers to more easily understand their obligations under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act (NGER). 

Honeywell’s Carbon Management Information Solution (CMIS) pulls disparate data into a unified solution that is designed to increase the visibility and accuracy of energy and emissions data. The CMIS is modular in design, enabling corporations to take a phased approach to carbon management - initially measuring and reporting data for NGER, then quantifying risks and optimising efficiency through a suite of linked Honeywell energy and carbon management applications.

By working closely with businesses, Honeywell can also help determine facility boundaries for NGER, review the technology infrastructure available for data gathering and reporting, and implement the CMIS in accordance to NGER technical guidelines to measure energy and carbon associated with Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

Honeywell’s CMIS is designed to provide visualisation of real-time data that will allow monitoring and aggregation of carbon emissions. Data and configuration changes to the CMIS are controlled via an integrated network and application security, plus data traceability and reference auditability. The CMIS has the data storage capacity to meet NGER auditing requirements.

The CMIS uses integrated modules from Honeywell’s Manufacturing Execution Systems to provide an easy-to-administer solution that can be extended to deliver additional functionality. It can also link and integrate emission cost into supply chain and production planning processes.

Data held in the CMIS is online and easily accessible via a common portal and standard user interface from different business locations.
