WorleyParsons New Zealand has become the latest international company to join the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ Safety Centre (ISC) as an industry partner.

The ISC is a trade-led consortium, split into three partner categories. The aim is to focus on improving process safety by bringing industry-wide organisations together to share and learn from each other, providing new insight and understanding from beyond normal industry circles. WorleyParsons has a unique opportunity to help shape the future of process safety in New Zealand and across the globe. By engaging in ISC activities the company can scope specific work programs in response to current and future process safety challenges.

WorleyParsons delivers projects, provides expertise in engineering, procurement and construction, and offers a wide range of consulting and advisory services. It covers the full life cycle, from creating new assets to sustaining and enhancing existing inventory in the hydrocarbon, mineral, metals, chemicals and infrastructure sectors.

WorleyParsons New Zealand’s location director, CEO Keith Nutting, said: “Process safety management is a highly specialist discipline that forms a key part of the drive for safety improvement in New Zealand. WorleyParsons is delighted to be working with the ISC and to be able to add our expertise in helping New Zealand’s industry better manage their major hazards.”

ISC Director Trish Kerin said: “Having this consortium provides companies new insight and understanding of safety from an industry-wide perspective; so it’s fantastic news to welcome such a large global consultancy to the ISC.

“WorleyParsons will bring with them a wealth of experience that can be shared across many sectors and geographies, as well as learning from others.”
