WorkCover offers free webinars on new Work Health and Safety laws
To help NSW business, industry and workers adjust to new Work Health and Safety laws, WorkCover NSW will be holding free webinars throughout March. The new laws became effective in NSW on 1 January 2012 as part of harmonised national laws.
Topics such as electrical safety, construction, plant and structures and hazardous chemicals will be covered in the webinars.
John Watson, General Manager of WorkCover’s Work Health and Safety Division, said, “Anyone with an internet connection can participate and receive interactive work health and safety advice in real time.”
The webinars commence at 11 am on 7 March with a webinar about electrical safety under the new Work Health and Safety Regulation.
WorkCover has also developed a range of materials on the new laws, including fact sheets, tools and frequently asked questions. These can be accessed via the WorkCover website or by calling 13 10 50.
To pre-register for the webinars, go to the WorkCover webinars page. Limited places are available.
