Sydney Water commits to $100m SCADA upgrade with Schneider
Sydney Water has signed a $100 million Collaborative Services Agreement with Schneider Electric and Thompson Controls to upgrade SCADA systems at 33 of its water and wastewater treatment plants.
“Previously, a number of service providers and contractors delivered work on these systems over Sydney Water’s service area,” said Kevin Young, Sydney Water’s Managing Director.

“This is a new approach for Sydney Water to work with a single service provider to deliver all upgrade and maintenance work associated with the treatment plant SCADA systems.
“This agreement brings all maintenance work and resources together in one contract and means better overall coordination of the projects and greater efficiency.”
The Collaborative Services Team has already started work on the project, and will transition to full support services by March 2013. The term of the contract is three years; Sydney Water has the option to extend the contract by two more three-year terms.
