Siemens appoints new vice president for Industry
Siemens has announced the appointment of David Keenan to the position of Vice President for Industrial Automation, Drive Technologies and Industry Solutions for Australia and New Zealand.
Keenan brings extensive experience to the position, having worked in commercial and technical support leadership roles in the mining, logistics and technology industries, including roles at Daimler Australia and Caterpillar. He also served as a board-level, non-executive director of Mincom.
Siemens’ Chairman and Managing Director Albert Goller said he was pleased to welcome Keenan as he brings a wealth of customer-orientated, international experience and technical expertise to the Siemens team.
“Mr Keenan’s broad understanding of service and support, commercial business functions and his skills in asset management, make him a valuable senior team member at Siemens in the Pacific cluster,” said Goller.
As Vice President of Siemens’ Industrial Automation, Drive Technologies and Industry Solutions, Keenan‘s main focus will be to further align Siemens’ business with the growing needs of the industrial market.
His international experience includes postings in Europe and Asia with responsibilities that have extended to include Africa and the Middle East. Prior to Siemens, Keenan was General Manager, Commercial Vehicles Retail, at Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific.
“I’m very pleased to take on this role. It’s an exciting time for the industrial solutions area with vast growth potential over the next few years, especially in water and mining. Companies are looking for opportunities to safely optimise the cost of production and improve their environmental and production efficiency. At Siemens we will be striving to meet these customers' needs and be a true solutions and service partner to assist with these challenges,” he said.
