SEW-Eurodrive to open Heavy Industrial Solutions Division in November
SEW-Eurodrive has announced that its new Heavy Industrial Solutions Division is in the final stages of development.
Adjoining its Tullamarine headquarters, the company’s new 10,000 m2 division is being fitted out to produce and service the largest drives in Australasia. The facility includes cranes that can handle 50-tonne loads, an automated two-pack paint line and a storage capacity of more than 3000 pallets.
“This $15 million investment will enable us to increase local assembly, holding and servicing of products, allowing customers to become productive much quicker than in previous times,” said SEW-Eurodrive Managing Director Robert Merola.
SEW-Eurodrive says the new facility is key to the company’s future in Australia. “Despite the changes we’ve seen, our commitment to our customers and the community are just as important as the day we started and will form the heartbeat of SEW-Eurodrive’s Australian operations for the next 30 years and beyond,” said Merola.
The company will unveil the new facility as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations on 1 November, which will include a giant marquee to accommodate 300 guests.
