SAGE Group to be acquired by US company Tetra Tech

SAGE Group has announced that it has signed an agreement to be acquired by Tetra Tech, a NASDAQ-listed consulting and engineering services company.

Headquartered in Pasadena, California, Tetra Tech is a provider of consulting and technology, design and engineering, and program management services in water, environment and sustainable infrastructure.

Tetra Tech was founded in 1966 and has more than 30,000 employees and 550 offices worldwide. This includes nearly 2500 employees in more than 50 offices throughout Australia and New Zealand. The acquisition will expand Tetra Tech’s digital systems solutions to a broader range of clients and provide advanced electrical and instrumentation design, engineered control systems, cybersecurity and cloud integration.

“Tetra Tech’s deep technical expertise and advanced technology solutions help utilities and the private sector optimise performance and make effective, data-driven decisions,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO. “The addition of SAGE Group’s digital automation capabilities will further enhance our offerings by bringing additional expertise, AI-enabled technology and demonstrated client solutions to our collective team.”

Adrian Fahey, SAGE Group’s Managing Director, said that in addition to positioning SAGE for global growth, the acquisition will deliver new capabilities for Australian customers.

“Tetra Tech and SAGE Group share complementary expertise, a strong cultural fit, and a shared long-term strategic vision to deliver impactful, future-focused solutions across digitalisation, AI and cybersecurity,” he said. “This partnership will position SAGE for long-term growth, broaden its service offering, and provide new global resources — enhancing the value, innovation and support we deliver to our clients and expanded opportunities for our employees.

“It also allows us to remain true to our core purpose while scaling our ability to deliver impactful, future-focused solutions across industrial digitalisation, ESG, AI and cybersecurity.”

Having started in 1994, SAGE Group now employs almost 800 people across offices in Australia and Asia Pacific. While maintaining system integration and automation services, SAGE Group has evolved to meet the changing demands of its focus industries. The company says the SAGE Group companies — SAGE Automation, Nukon, Skills Lab and Embedded Expertise — provide support for clients to innovate, modernise, digitise and improve the way they operate.
