Rockwell Automation TechED will be held at the Novotel Sydney Olympic Park from 30 August to 1 September 2016. The latest Rockwell Automation and PartnerNetwork products and technology solutions will be available in a classroom environment.

According to Matthew Treeby, commercial marketing manager, Rockwell Automation, “TechED provides a valuable opportunity to hear about the latest software technologies and how these can be used to support the connected enterprise. It also delivers a venue where people can network annually to learn from each other and discuss best practice applications.”

The event will feature a combination of more than 50 technical sessions, labs and workshops featuring applications, control system design and optimisation, the latest information solutions, networks infrastructure and security, cutting-edge process solutions, safety and virtualisation.

The first day of the event will feature a full-day seminar focused on process industry requirements. The Process Solutions Users Group is designed to provide a unique perspective on industry developments and methods for optimising process applications. Participants will discover the newly released features of the PlantPAx distributed control system and future developments for the upcoming year.

In addition to local domain experience, the global product manager for PlantPAx , David Rapini, will be in attendance to discuss specific applications and reveal where the technology is currently heading. He will be on hand to listen to requirements voiced by Australian process users and feed these back so they can be implemented in future generations of the process platform.

Companies are incorporating smart devices and embedded intelligence within their plants and processes at an unprecedented rate.  There is a strong drive to use technology to get more out of assets by accessing data and providing it to the right person in the right time. A key focus of the event will be how to efficiently deliver intelligence to mobile devices.

“As a company we are focused on innovating our software offering to further leverage our hardware capabilities. We are seeing increased demand for information and the ability to capture that information from control systems. As result there has been significant developments to improve the user experience and provide contextual information they require seamlessly, regardless of the original data source or display device,” said Treeby.

To keep participants up to date with the latest advances in software development and mobility, keynote presentations will be delivered by Scott Miller, global business manager for software, Rockwell Automation, and Kevin Bloch, chief technology officer at Cisco Systems, Australia and New Zealand.

Held in collaboration with Rockwell Automation Authorised Distributors, NHP Electrical Engineering and Rexel Industrial Automation, TechED will focus on higher-level intelligence and how companies can use information to improve business performance and drive profitability.
