Rockwell Automation has appointed Steve Lawlor as Customer Support and Maintenance Business Manager for Australia and New Zealand. Lawlor assumes responsibilities for the management and coordination of the field services and training teams in both countries, and additionally heads up the operations of the Rockwell Automation repair facility, located in Melbourne.

According to Lawlor, his key focus in the new role will be the development and expansion of the company’s customer support and maintenance. “We aim to enrich the end-users’ experience of Rockwell Automation technology,” he said. “By providing expertise when the company’s equipment is being installed and configured, our teams help ensure the optimisation of system functionality and performance for each application from day one.”

Furthermore, the field services and training teams can provide training to on-site personnel to boost their proficiency in operating and maintaining Rockwell Automation equipment. The teams are also able to organise managed-parts agreements for end users, to minimise cost and delivery times. Through these means, end users can benefit from enhanced operational performance and experience maximised system up-time.

Drawing on his considerable experience as District Service Manager for the company in western Canada, Lawlor brings a wealth of proven initiatives to the Australasian market. “One of the biggest challenges we face here is the expansive geography,” he said. “One of my prime focuses as we move forward will be to enhance how customer support and maintenance addresses the needs of industry in the many remote regions across the continent.”
