Profibus Association of Australia (PAA) has organised the ‘One for All’ Expo at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

This one-day expo combines a technology forum and a technology fair with companies from the process and factory automation sectors showing Profibus products and solutions in an interactive environment.

The technology forum will give visitors the opportunity to interact with industry experts who are involved in the latest technology. There are sessions dealing with efficiency improvements, safety fieldbus, next-generation diagnostic tools and several other topics.

Profibus is the world’s most successful fieldbus with very high adoption rates in Australia as well. By the end of 2009, over 31 million Profibus devices had been installed worldwide - more than 5.4 million of these in the process industries.

Local adoption levels of Profibus technology within the process and factory automation sectors have grown over the last five years - a trend which is expected to continue in Australia and around the world.

Visitors will be able to learn firsthand from Profibus technical experts and experienced end users. Tooheys is set to deliver an interesting user experience presentation for the brewery industry titled 'The importance of certified network installation'.

Sappi Saiccor will examine the complexities behind 'Process troubleshooting with Profibus' for the paper and pulp industries. Those interested in how to use Profibus in manufacturing can sit in on the presentation from Wang Components, which will educate and inform attendees on the machining of pipe couplings and clamps. Rel-liance will outline a user's experience with Profibus in the water industry.

Expo visitors seeking a quick and free skills upgrade can choose from a set of in-depth technical sessions which include 'Safety Fieldbus for Process applications', 'Profibus PA engineering and Installation' and 'Profibus Diagnostic tools'.
