NMW 2017 conference agenda released

The 2017 National Manufacturing Week conference program will feature a leading edge series of seminars, showcases, interactive discussions and networking sessions addressing the critical touch points that will help drive the Industry 4.0 revolution including: Industry Capability Development, Product and Service Innovation, Technology Innovation and Process Improvement.

With free presentations from experts and exhibitors, linking industry and visitors with the latest research, technology, innovations and best practice in manufacturing, the NMW conference is a must-attend event.

Kicking off the NMW 2017 conference program will be John Pollaers, chairman of the Australian Advanced Manufacturing Council, with his keynote address: ‘Scaling up Australian manufacturing — what will it take?’, in which he will explore key characteristics of successful prime and SME manufacturers, emerging market opportunities, workforce development needs and recommended government actions to grow the scale of Australian manufacturing.

A second keynote address on Day 1 will be given by Keith McLean, director, CSIRO Manufacturing, on the subject ‘Advanced Manufacturing — A road map for unlocking future growth opportunities for Australia’. His address will explore the CSIRO’s road map for transforming Australia’s manufacturing industries into a highly integrated, collaborative and export-focused ecosystem that provides high-value customised solutions within global value chains.

Other main presentations throughout the four days will focus on the challenges and opportunities being presented to Australian manufacturers in 2017, including notable success stories, with Day 4 having a strong focus on robotics.
