Manufacturing innovators receive accolades
Three companies and two individuals were recently awarded honours for their excellence in the manufacturing industry at the AMTIL (Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited) Advanced Manufacturing Awards gala dinner.
The award recipients were:
- Advanced Manufacturer of The Year: Manufacturer of ferries, cruise vessels and offshore support vessels, Austal (WA);
- Advanced Manufacturing Exporter of the Year: Aerospace and Defence component manufacturer, Production Parts (Vic);
- Advanced Manufacturing Innovator of the Year: Advanced Robotic Technologies (Qld), for its SMART Plasma profiling machines;
- Advanced Manufacturing Young Ambassador of the Year: Robbie O'Brien, managing director of FlexiCut Engineering (Vic); and
- Advanced Manufacturing Designer of the Year: Sheldon Vaughan (NSW).
The annual awards draw entries from across the country and are aimed at highlighting Australian manufacturing innovation and excellence.
