Industry Growth Program supports 13 new commercialisation projects
The Australian Government has announced that its Industry Growth Program has provided $21.2 million in matched grant funding for 13 projects aimed at strengthening manufacturing capability, and supporting small and medium enterprises and startups.
The government says the projects align with government priority areas and will help build Australian manufacturing capability.
Some of the latest grants include:
- $4,999,122 for Xefco to manufacture its Ausora systems and commercialise its technology that eliminates water and wastewater discharge from the textiles dyeing process.
- $2,105,746 for ElectraLith to test a sustainable extraction and refining process for battery-grade lithium and to help set up a pilot test site.
- $3,072,870 for Mako (formerly MicroTau) to develop in-house manufacturing for its shark skin-inspired film that reduces drag on aircraft and reduce fuel consumption and emissions by up to 4%.
- $1,769,237 for Number 8 Bio to scale manufacturing for BetterFeedPro — a feed supplement that reduces methane — and to support field trials with major beef and dairy operators.
- $1,055,758 for Waglass to commercialise a new glass recycling process diverting up to 40,000 extra tonnes per year from landfill.
- $250,000 for Eyeonic to enhance its AI-powered, out-of-clinic glaucoma testing solution for global eye care providers.
- $249,620 for Smart Minds WA to deliver a blood-based diagnostic kit that detects early signs of Alzheimer’s disease, improving access to timely diagnosis and care.
The grants follow participation in the Industry Growth Program’s Advisory Service, where more than 2000 businesses have received expert and tailored advice.
